LogoType

This week we were tasked with constructing a typographical logo using own name with last weeks creative influences as a basis and I started by writing down a few of those influences and then listing everything I can think of that is associated with those influences I also wrote my name several times in different formats such as caps and lowercase, all caps and a few other arrangements.

Once I had a understanding of how my name worked I tried to pick a few of the easily definable influence ideas to try and create a logo type image by combining them together

One of the things I started to focus on was the universal symbol for infinity I’m not sure why but something about the endless possibilities that exist really resonates with me along with the infinity symbol the lightbulb also spoke to me so I wanted to somehow combine these together.

Another idea I had was to try to combine a satellite with a lightbulb and have my name and an infinity symbol on it and I kind of liked this idea but I kept on trying some more ideas instead of just sticking on one right at the start.

The next thing I tried was an explosion combined with an infinity symbol and then putting my name into that explosion then someone pointed out to me that I could use the infinity symbol as the lightbulbs filament so I then played around with that for a little bit even adding my name into it.

Infinity Explosion Accidental Genitalia.

I did play around in Illustrator a little bit following my tutor’s tutorials but I was not 100% sure how to create the logos in illustrator but I did tweak the type to be more like what I wanted which was centered all caps.
