Lamps

In week three we were tasked with creating Both a FK and a IK rig onto two identical lamps in Maya and well Again I had done this before so I again put it off for a while and then where I did do it it became an example of where not to use FK rigs as you can see in this GIF the FK rig (Left) requires more work to get it to have a smooth animation the only thing I did at first was set three keyframes on two different joints to get it to swing back and then all the way forward then back to starting position however for some reason it does this weird spin in the middle which is being caused by god knows what and would require several keyframes to fix.

However, The IK rig on the other hand took those 3 Keyframes and played the perfect animation with no hassle I even went ahead and added some lights to show that the lamps have power but for the FK rig the light would not shine and I’m not sure why it just refused to light for some reason.

I then recreated the same rigging in a blender and rendered that out in both Eevee and Cycles and added in lights and textures and well the Ik rig turned out as expected less hassle to work with but at the cost of it being less precise in its movements and the FK rig being More hassle but also more accurate tho it only snaps once in the entire animation it turned out better than the one I did in Maya since I’m not very used to that program
